I live in Totnes, Devon with my partner Jim and daughter.
We have a studio in Devon where we run our small business Jane Foster Designs. It's here that I design, screen print and sew. I also run my own blog, Facebook and Pinterest site and take all my own photos.
All our toys are made here in Devon by myself and occassionally a few helpers (when I can't do it all myself!) My partner Jim does all the overlocking on the cushions that I screen print and make.
I've also been fortunate to have been given a book deal with Collins and Brown - my first book is available now and is called Fun With Fabric.
I've been screen printing for many years now and am strongly influenced by Scandinavian design. I particularly like design from the 50's and 60's and have a large collection of fabrics and ceramics from these periods. I love early Marimekko fabric designs and the work by Lucienne Day. I also love the artwork by Dick Bruna and Alain Gree.
We collect furniture from the 50s and 60s, in particular patterned formica pieces and birch ply chairs, which compliment our contemporary home.
I love bold, simply, happy designs, which appeal to children and adults alike.
I have 20 prints that are published by The Art Group which can be viewed in the Big Book Volume 3 Catalogue.
