I live in Kingsbridge, Devon with my partner Jim and daughter.
We have a studio in Devon where we run our small business Jane Foster Designs. It's here that I design, screen print, sew and write books. I also run my own blog, Facebook and Pinterest site.
All our toys are made here in Devon by myself and occassionally a few helpers (when I can't do it all myself!) My partner Jim does all the overlocking on the cushions that I screen print and is also my screen print technician, exposing all my designs onto silk screens for printing. We sell our products worldwide and are always happy to accept wholesale orders and commissions.
I've also been fortunate to have been given a three book deal with Anova - my first book is available now and is called Fun With Fabric. My second book is called Creative Craft with Kids and is out January 2015.
I've been screen printing for many years now and am strongly influenced by Scandinavian design. I particularly like design from the 50's and 60's and have a large collection of fabrics and ceramics from these periods. I love early Marimekko fabric designs and the work by Lucienne Day. I also love the artwork by Dick Bruna and Alain Gree.
We collect furniture from the 50s and 60s, in particular patterned formica pieces and birch ply chairs, which compliment our 60's home.
I love bold, simply, happy designs, which appeal to children and adults alike.
I won the Mollie Makes Established Handmade Business Award 2014
I've also recently been working with Make International who are producing mugs and glasses with my designs on and other products to follow shortly.
