I live in Totnes, Devon with my partner Jim and daughter.
We have a studio in Devon where we run our small business Jane Foster Designs. It's here that I design, screen print and sew. I also run my own blog, Facebook and Pinterest site and tale all my own photos.
All our toys are made here in Devon by myself and a few helpers (when I can't do it all myself!) - Clare and Anna help with sewing and Ghislaine is the chief 'toy stuffer' along with myself. My partner Jim does all the overlocking on the cushions that I screen print and make.
I've also been fortunate to have been given a book deal with Collins and Brown - my first book is available now and is called Fun With Fabric.
I've been screen printing for many years now and am strongly influenced by Scandinavian design. I particularly like design from the 50's and 60's and have a large collection of fabrics and ceramics from these periods. I love early Marimekko fabric designs and the work by Lucienne Day. I also love the artwork by Dick Bruna and Alain Gree.
We collect furniture from the 50s and 60s, in particular patterned formica pieces and birch ply chairs, which compliment our contemporary home.
I love bold, simply, happy designs, which appeal to children and adults alike.
