About Jane Foster

Jane Foster Jane Foster Jane Foster

I'm an illustrator, author and textile designer living in South Devon with my partner and daughter. It's a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful beaches and countryside.

I illustrate, screen print, sew and write books. I love bold, happy designs that appeal to children and adults alike. My purpose in life is to bring joy into other people's lives by creating happy illustrations for children's books, wall art, mugs and other products.

I've been screen printing for many years now and am strongly influenced by Scandinavian design. I particularly like design from the 50's and 60's and have a large collection of fabrics and ceramics from these periods. I love early Marimekko fabric designs and the work by Lucienne Day. I also love the artwork by Dick Bruna and Alain Gree.

I've been fortunate to have been given a three book deal with Anova (now Pavilion) - the first two of these are out now - Fun With Fabric and Creative Craft With Kids.

I have seven pre-school books published by Templar  - Jane Foster's ABC, 123, First Words, Colours, Stripy Tiger Pattern Book, Black and White and Brown Bear Colour Book.

I won the Mollie Makes Established Handmade Business Award 2014
